Diane is a forest ecologist working for the Forest Service in Oregon. She has a great interest in tropical biology. She said: "I found the class very challenging, a lot of information was presented, a lot of keys, the matrix that we built was quite detailed and allowed us to identify almost every plant to family and a lot of them to genus".

"........The course was not simply limited to plant identification, but we also talked about the different life zones of the plants, the ecology of the plants itself but also some information about the insects, dispersal, pollination and that kind of information".

"The organization was good, we stayed in many different kinds of accommodations from rustic lodges to a nice resort, meals were always tasty and sometimes really great, and I guess transportation was excellent too".

"I absolutely recommend this class to people who are interested in tropical flora, ecologists and plant taxonomists. It's really a great course with a lot of information".

Bernardo: " ...Yes, I knew something on plant identification, because I have been working with professional botanists. However, I feel that my knowledge on dendrology has become as much as twice the previous knowledge or even tree times. I am fairly convinced that now I know three times more... "

Omar: " ...the positive part of this course is that now we have a clear idea of how to use vegetative characteristics to recognize plants. Things will be easier because now we know where we stand..." " ...I recommend this course to foresters, biologists, and to those persons interested in knowing the trees".

Eduardo: "The course was very interesting, since I learn new ways to identify plants ...and a I have learn to order dendrological data in my mind.... We have been a great deal of the time in the country side and that is very positive ..."
